Q. Is Classical Homeopathy different from 'usual' Homeopathy?
Classical Homeopathy employs a
single medication and in minimal dosage for cure with long term
betterment. The process of finalising the single medication best
suited for the patient is tedious and requires skill on the part of
the Homeopath, so, many Homeopaths skip this process and give
multiple medicines or use patent products. The healing possiblity
from this practice of Homeopathy is from zero to a small
amelioration of symptoms.
Q. What diseases can Homeopathy treat?
Homeopathy is very helpful in treating most of the acute and chronic health conditions. However in certain conditions, like with degenerative changes, there is little Homeopathy can do to cure as disease progression is rapid. Please have a look at the conditions treated to know more.
Q. Can Homeopathy be given to Children?
Most of the complaints faced by
children including dentition, rashes, fever, cold, cough,
vomitting, tonsillitis, asthma etcetra are effectively treated with
Homeopathy, which does not cause a strain on the body, but
strenthens it in the process.
Q. Can I take
Homeopathy when I am pregnant?
Yes, Homeopathy can help your
pregnancy go smoothly and help your baby be healthier. Be sure to
inform your Homeopath if you are expecting. However, any medicines
are best avoided during pregnancy unless required, and only on
prescription.
Q. How can Homeopathy help avoid surgery?
Homeopathy can help with certain conditions which require surgical correction like DNS, tonsillitis, hemorrhoids (piles), cysts, fibroids. The action of the medicines is not always curative in this regard but the patient observes correction in the functioning. For example in DNS- Deviated nasal septum, the septum will not get corrected by the medicinal action, rather the complaints arising out of it like sensitivity, allergy get treated.
Q. What will happen after I take
Homeopathic treatment?
If it is the correct medication you
will gradually get healthier. Occasionally there may be a flare up
of symptoms in the first week of the treatment, which indicates
healing process being started. You will gradually get better with
stronger immunity, and a sense of well-being.
Q. How long will it take for me to get beter?
It takes your body some time to
heal a complaint you have had for years. The treatment duration is
proportional to how long you have had the complaint and its
severity. A rough rule of thumb is one month for every year of
suffering, however considerable changes are seen in the very first
weeks in majority of the cases.
Q. Does Homeopathy cause complaints to increase and then decrease? (flare up)
In a few cases it is observed that there
is a flare up of symptoms, lasting for few hours to days, followed
by improvement of health. This is never life threatening or of a
major symptom as this process is initiated by bodies own defense
mechanism and is a sign that healing is taking place. In most cases
this process is imperceptible.
This is not a side effect, please contact your Homeopathic physician for guidance if you think you are experiencing flare up of symptoms.
A side effect is an undesirable
secondary effect of a drug, the homeopathic flare up is a
desirable action.
Allopathy
Allopathy or conventional medicine is often the best medication during certain conditions.
We do not advocate against allopathic medications but do ask patients to take medicines only when absolutely required. This is important to see that immunity is not compromised.
Homeopathy can be safely taken with most allopathic drugs. Do let your Homeopathic physician know if you are on any drugs.
Ayurveda
Is also a wholistic
system of medicine like Homeopathy, Ayurved is also a living life
in a certain manner to achieve true health.
It is advisable to not
take Homeopathy and Ayurveda together as their interactions are not
known or well documented.
Q. What can interfere with the success of my Homeopathic treatment?
Homeopathic medications being mild
in nature are anti-doted (negated) by stimulants such as Coffee and
medications like anti-biotics. Please get in touch with your
Homeopath if you feel the need to take other medications during
Homeopathic treatment.
Q. How do I handle Homeopathic remedies?
When taking the medicines do not
eat or drink for ten minutes before and after taking the medicine.
Do not touch the medicines with your hands but tip it into your
mouth using the cap. Store medicines away from direct
sunlight.
Counseling/ Psychotherapy
Under Homeopathic medications patients are able to overcome mental and emotional stress. It is advisable to meet a counselor or a therapist who could help develop certain skill sets in the pateint such that they able to better handle stress in the future.

Q. Can Homeopathy
cause side effects?
Side effects are undesired effects
noticed during the action of the drug. Homeopathic medicines can
cause short lasting side effects when overdosed or taken
incorrectly. However no side effects are seen in practice of
Classical Homeopathy.
Q. Can I self medicate with Homeopathy?
Though Homeopathy has no side effects, taking self medication may distort the symptom picture making it difficult for the Homeopathic Doctor to arrive at the prescription. A self selected medication at best would help in slight amelioration of symptoms as the task of arriving at the corect medication can be aided by books and softwares but the doctors skill and expertise cannot be replicated.
Q Are off the shelf-OTC medicines in Homeopathy effective?
OTC, patent preparations are a combination of many Homeopathic medications catered to suit a populace rather than an individual as Homeopathy intends to do. So even though these products contain Homeopathic medications they will be unable to provide a long term cure.
